Too many people are unaware of or apathetic to Australia’s plight and environmental issues. Too many remain uninformed of the horrible consequences and havoc that global warming brings. Thus, to enlighten and educate people, YCFL would like to host a Climate Color Run at Constitution Park, Fort Lee on April 25, 2020, Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Rain date: April 26) in order to raise funds to donate to Australian state fire authorities and local fire brigades in Australian states that have been severely affected by the fires.
To engage our younger attendees, the YCFL will have games (e.g. a Kahoot presentation) that center on climate change. Furthermore, we would like to have music and invite vendors to this event. The Borough of Fort Lee & LG Electronics USA (Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Relations team) have decided to co-host the event with us and will discuss how we can work together for the event.
The YCFL believes that this event will be a great success. In addition to bringing awareness to Australia’s crisis and global warming/climate change, the event will bring our community together in a way that would allow us to enjoy each other’s company, learn something, and effect a lasting change. Too many remain unaware of what the world faces if we do not act now. Global warming is real and a threat to us all. Therefore, the Youth Council of Fort Lee feels compelled to host this event. With the active participation of community members of all ages, the event will celebrate our planet and serve as an important reminder that we only have one. To ensure our survival, we have to take care of it.
If you are able to be a sponsor and/or participate in the event, then the project can move forward. Its completion will no doubt offer our community valuable lessons.
